the traditional coloring method of TAKAOKA casting, KURO-MURA, makes the product something like an ancient excavated item. this is a traditional method used for buddhist altar articles, which mixes pigments with Japanese lacquer, URUSHI. The product gradually changes its color over the course of years due to oxidization. The longer it is used, the richer and subtler it becomes.
